Crossing Into 2012

Remember when we were young, heady teenagers, and jostled with stampeding crowds during the massive countdown parties in Suntec City or Orchard Road? I feel tired (and old) just thinking about it. Those days are far behind me (but not too far, eep), I hope. This year, we opted for good, quality time spent with friends and family (ok fine, so we trooped off to Mink after that) and – call us crazy – woke up early enough on the first day of the year to play domestic goddesses for a homecooked champagne brunch. Our newly-crowned best-chef-ever V tossed up some perfectly-runny scrambled eggs (dipped into with toasted flakseed bread, yum), which went perfectly with heidsieck rosé, hediard black tea, blueberries, and fabulous friends.

Gah that looks LOVELY. Especially your beautiful menu cards!

CAN WE HAVE IN HOUSE CHAMPAGNE BRUNCH WHEN I’M NEXT BACK PLEASE I’ll help to wash dishes. Or beat eggs. And eat waffles. Not to blow my own horn but I’ve been told I’m quite talented at waffle-eating and egg-beating :)

What if I up my offer and help set/watch timer for waffles? I know is meant to cook for 9min so will be quite helpful, I think.
