10,000 Singaporeans for Pink Dot
It’s Monday and we’re all winding down from a fabulous weekend at Pink Dot 2011.
On Saturday, over 10,000 Singaporeans flocked down to Hong Lim Park to stand for a more open and loving home for all Singaporeans – straight or gay. That’s more than twice the 4,000 who came for Pink Dot last year. By 4pm, the park was already teeming with picnickers – people with their pets, parents with their children, people in drag and, of course, people in pink. Thank goodness it was relatively cool: the clouds shielded the harsh sun but didn’t break for rain.

Plenty of coverage by the local media this year. Channel News Asia, The Straits Times, Yahoo! News had great stories, as well as The Online Citizen and Out There Magazine. The best moments of Pink Dot 2011 are immortalised in the video below. Till a bigger and prettier Pink Dot next year!
